Hey Everyone!
My name is Charlie and I'm excited to announce an alpha demo - up to 10 years of gameplay per game - is now available!
I've been a web developer for over 20 years and have always loved games, especially strategy games. When I saw HOI4 come out - it's beautiful! But something about it, it's just a bit too much for me. Lovely game and community, but I wanted to make something new that still has a lot of depth and historical accuracy with military units, without being overwhelming. That's NationFall.
This is an alpha - the first public look at the game. We have a Discord and would love any and all feedback you have for the game.
I'm already working on a redo of our maps to include a lot of the detail you see in games like HOI: rivers, mountains, and cities/regions.
What you can play right now
The demo runs entirely in your browser - no install, no signup, no email gate. Pick a scenario, pick a nation, and play.
- Two scenarios - a WW2 (1939) start and a modern WW3 start, each with their own strategic landscape.
- Pick your nation - over 200 playable countries across both scenarios, each with a recognizable strategic situation from turn one.
- Real depth, real consequences - doctrine planning, combat with actual military units, espionage, diplomacy, and economic pressure - the genre's depth without the 1,000-hour ramp.
- Up to 10 years of gameplay per game - enough runway for a strategy to actually play out.
What "alpha" actually means
This is the first time anyone outside the project has seen NationFall, so I want to be straight about it: things will be rough in places. The map redo is the big one I'm already mid-stride on, balance is still being tuned, and there will be bugs I haven't found yet.
That's exactly why it's out now. I'd rather put it in your hands early and build it with you than polish in a vacuum. If something feels off - a unit that's too strong, a scenario that's lopsided, a UI moment that confused you - that's the most useful thing you can tell me.
Come tell me what you think
The Discord is where it all happens - bug reports, balance arguments, feature requests, and where I post what's coming next. If you play even one game, drop in and let me know how it went.
Thanks for being here this early. Let's build this thing together.
